The app worked up till July 2017 then the next day it would not pair with the app, but the phone itself sees and pairs. Pulled out a backup hearing aid and it also failed. Something changed in Android or the blutooth and non of their 3 apps that should work, all fail to pair.
My samsung calaxy 7 edge can not connect to resound smart app. When are you going to fix it? My hearing aids are resund cala 8 from Costco. Your support told me there is a bug.
Worst app I have used. If I could give it a zero stars I would. To be fair at least I can get phone call ring tones. Other then that nothing. Doesnt give alerts or text messages. You cant use Shazam, app sends it to your ears. App at first would let phone calls go to automobile. Then it went crazy! Now it goes to ears, when you answer, goes between car and ears. Forget carrying on a conversation. With phone clip on, goes between the three. The battery display shows full charge, then ears will ding for low battery. Guess what now the display will show empty. There are other issues will updat as I remember.
Fortunately I havent had the same issues as the reviews Ive read, but what has happened is that the sound has changed, and not in a good way, when Im streaming through my computer, which I use very heavily in my work every single day. I want to be able to restore it back to the second before I agreed to the latest update. This is not good!! ReSound, do yall actually read these reviews and act accordingly? Too many people are experiencing very serious issues with this latest update. PLEASE reverse the latest update with another update so that your customers are not having all of these problems! Signed, Desperate Court Reporter!!!
Angry When in Bluetooth one ear will stop working when I move my head. It doesnt matter which one. It also happens when not in Bluetooth. These are still on trial basis. I am going to take back due to the fact that Resound doesnt care. Look at all the reviews.
A late May update fixed all the problems with this app. I love it! I have 4 saved volume settings to use for various settings. Try it youll like it.
I have used this app for about a month now. I have been able to use it as described. For those of you who have had issues I believe it might have something to do with the familiarity, expertise and programming from your audiologist. I will say I read everything that I could find about the set up and functions that are available through Resound and Apple. That way my audiologist and I could work together to set up the best set up for me. Yes, there was some necessary adjustment along the way, but now I can move from environment to environment without a problem. I can take calls both in my car and directly on my aides. I listen to music and use the tinnitus support as well. I also have an Apple Watch which also is working nicely. I love the ability to adjust discretely as my environmental needs change. I love the clarity of the sound quality the aides and the convenience. Resound has developed an amazing hearing aide and Apple is to be applauded for working with Resound to make it user friendly for those of us with hearing loss. Is it complicated and complex? Yes, but both companies have done a great job working together to make a product that opens the world to us again! I am very pleased with my aides and hope to continue this way!!! I do suggest that you wait a while before downloading the latest Apple updates. Remember Resound has to respond to the changes Apple has made and this takes time. I hope those who have had issues the best of luck!!
Bought my "aids" because of their claimed functionality with Apple. When the app works it is great, but frequently over the last year the app parts company with my aids - requiring a phone power down to reinitiate the connection Cannot count the times that out of the blue the apps lost the connection while using Pandora Amazed when I just now looked for a Resound app for my brand new iPad - to find none exist. Silly me for not expecting this from these 3rd rate folks
Whatever Google did on June 21, 2016, upgrading its Search app to fix "a bug that caused audio being played over Bluetooth to stop when users opened the app," has now corrupted the iOS operating system so that my iPhone does not automatically open to my ReSound app and ReSound hearing aids when I receive an incoming call, make an outgoing call, or recover voicemail. This is annoying and defeats the purpose for which I bought the hearing aids and iPhone in the first place. Please get with Apple and Google and fix this immediately so that you all play nicely together.
I dont know when this app upgraded on my iPhone 6Plus, but after a few weeks of random and frequently lost Bluetooth connectivity, now the app cant even find my hearing aids to pair with. I deleted and re-installed the app and rebooted my phone - nothing! Now I have to pursue tech support or return to my audiologist. FAIL!
This Application do not work. Unaccessible with VoiceOver. I told ReSound about this issue. So far no changes despite 2 udate. Forget it if using with VoiceOver. Other problems of bluetooth connexion with this so called iPhone compatible hearing aids.
Compatibility description says this app is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 5c and 5s running iOS 7.0+ however the app does not work on iPhone 4S iOS 7.0+
I have had my ReSound LiNX for 4 months. I am using the most current version of the app with IOS 8 on an iPhone 6. I gave the app a 2 because of the improved Bluetooth connectivity otherwise I would have rated it 1. The Bluetooth connection has improved with IOS 8 but is still not 100% reliable. I want to be clear that the problems and issues I have outlined below are related SOLELY to the ReSound Smart App – the LiNX hearing aids are the best hearing aids I have had in 20 years of wearing hearing aids. The mute button on the volume page was removed in the latest version of the Smart app. I don’t know ReSound’s thinking behind this but they only made use of the app worse than it already was. I mute most commercials when watching TV via the TV Streamer; now I have to slide the volume to 0 (lowest level) for mute. I then have to use the slider to go back to the prior level to unmute. This doesn’t sound difficult but in actual use it is a pain – the button was easier to use. My impression is that app navigation was not designed by someone who actually uses the app frequently. Most of my use of the app occurs while watching TV. I use the app to select programs, My Places, and adjust volume/treble/base/mute. I have recommended simpler navigation to ReSound based on how I use the app. My Places has limited value to me. Being GPS based means that I can only save one Place per GPS location. In my home I need multiple Place’s: 1) general listening 2) TV listening through my TV Streamer 3) listening to conversations through the mini mike – GPS based Places don’t allow this. All My Places are lost when my audiologist connects my hearing aids to the ReSound program on her computer – this mean revisiting each GPS tagged location to restore My Place’s previously saved – this is not practical. I recommended to ReSound that the current volume/treble/base settings in the hearing aids be saved in the hearing aid memory when tagging a Place instead tagging Place’s based on a GPS location. I also reported to ReSound that the Place’s map feature has no practical value to me in this application. ReSound stated that they “must develop the app for a universal worldwide audience”. I am guessing this means ReSound will only change from GPS based Places to just tagging current settings if they get enough demand. Volume settings are remembered when switching between programs; Treble and Base settings are not. I regularly switch between my TV Streamer and Program 1 when watching TV. Every time I switch programs I have to manually readjust the treble and base settings; remember – I can’t use a Place to restore the settings because multiple Places in single GPS location doesn’t work. I have reported this issue to ReSound as another reason GPS location based tagging isn’t practical. The LiNX are VERY expensive hearing aids – the high cost presumably is based partly on the ReSound Smart app feature for the iPhone. ReSound acknowledged receipt of my reporting the above issues in early July, 2014. ReSound also acknowledged that my recommendations and issues would be passed onto their app development team. ReSound has been unresponsive to several follow-up attempts by me for an update since my first contact in July. Final Comment: Prior to this version of the app there were several reviews on the App Store but they have been deleted – many rated the app similar to this review. None of them supported this app having a 4+ Rating. Do your homework – check reviews on this product elsewhere. UPDATE: Many more reviews on the U.S. App Store. Check them out!
If left open for a while on iOS 9 the screen goes black and you cant exit - forced to reboot.
Great apps but only works on the phone and it didnt work on IPad at all.
The app has a simple and intuitive interface , it could be very helpful with some improvements. Unfortunately, very often, connection between iphone and hearing aids stops, and the only solution is to turn off and on the iphone.
Since the app was updated I have experienced multiple lockouts to programs. There is a multiple set of beeps and then the HAs go to some kind of iPhone program mode and I cannot change back to one of my programs; then the HAs switch back to one of my programs on their own.
After wearing hearing aids for over 30 years, I consider myself qualified to post an honest review of the app and product. Specifically, after this weeks app update the hearing aids stopped working. I called the Resound support number to be told that because my problem was an "isolated" event and it was Friday afternoon, they would have to refer my issue to someone to look at on Monday- leaving me 2+ days with inoperable hearing aids. I then contacted my dispenser only to learn that the issue was widespread- contrary to the excuse given to me by Resound support. Not only did Resound force me to go a few days without my hearing aid, they obviously dont understand that people rely on their product for our livelihood and fulfillment of lifes activities. Again Resound updated their app this week and deemed my hearing aids defunct. Because their support does not open for a couple more hours (8:00CST) I now have to wait to get my hearing aids operable again. It appears that the Resound marketing department has done a wonderful job placing this product as one worth $6,000+ but the operations simply fail to support such an offering.
