ReSound Smart App Reviews

Its coming

I love the phone connection to my hearing aids. It seems some of features, Noise and Speech, of Sound Enhancer cant be selected - only Wind. I also find that it seems to take a heavy toll on processing, especially when playing games with sound. Any sound seems to now tie up the processor for 1 - 2 seconds.

Will not pair within app

Hearing aid paired with phone yet will not pair with app. Have tried numerous times, deleted and reinstalled app, power cycled phone and all the first defense tricks to no avail. I have the Resound Linx hearing aid and traded iPhone to a 5C just to use this app. So disappointed.

Needs restructuring.

Poor design and doesnt operate effectively.

Will not pair with iPhone 6

I have had the same problems as the last reviewer. I cant tell if the problem lies with ReSound, with Apple, or with both. The day before yesterday (October 21), all was working fine. Yesterday, my iOS updated to 9.1. I also noticed that ReSound had updated its App to add more bells and whistles, which look like they will be welcome if they dont mess up what I bought these hearing aids for in the first place- to work with my iPhone. Yesterday and today, the App doesnt work. It says my Linx hearing aids need to be paired with my iPhone (they are) and keeps pushing me to the Demo mode. I don"t want a demonstration of what might be. I want an App that works and is. If this isnt fixed soon (i.e., today), I am going back to my Rexton aids, that I bought at Costco and which were a third the cost of the ReSounds. The Rextons arent as fancy as the ReSounds, but have never let me down.

Won’t connect since iOs 9.1 update

Since updating to iOs 9.1 my Resound linx 7 won’t pair with the iPhone 6+. I’ve tried resetting everything on the iPhone and even had the settings on the linx changed by the audiologist. No luck- unable to connect to adjust settings, volume, etc. Hope a fix is in the works.

Patient

Works terrible since update. Doesnt pair well with phone anymore. Please fix bugs and make it like before update.

Awesome!

Thought I was going to have to live with subpar connections until now awesome! Thank you!!!

Suggested Improvements

If both HAs are not connected, the app should link directly to Settings as many apps do. Needs to provide a direct email link to provide feedback to the developers. Should show the SNs of your HAs.

Bummer

Worked fairly well until downloaded iOS 9.2. Now cant get it to sync with iPhone. Shaky on my iPad...up and down

No problems with iPhone 6s Plus but

The "but" is the developer really needs to add a hard press option for the new iPhone series that would allow you to do this like mute/I mute with opening the app. Integrating it the first time almost two months ago was easy; No problems. Wondering why I only have one program (all around) and how I get the others.

iPad or iPhone--not both

While I had the app working on both iPad and iPhone for awhile, when I upgraded to iOS 9.2, I lost connection with both. Got iPad back but not iPhone. Resound customer service had me turned Bluetooth on iPad off and iPhone synced perfectly.

Went down fro great to poor.

Worked great until update, loses connection on iPhone 6 Plus. Apple or Resound?

Great app

My iPhone 5c pairs fine, 10 months and works great! I like the restaurant mode for watching TV. Simple controls for volume and other functions and recommend this app.

Not ready for prime time

The pair of ReSound LiNX 9’s we bought in July 2014 never had the full range of “programs” shown with this App. It had “all around” and your iPhone could be used as a mic in a noisy environment. Oh, the hearing aids worked well with phone calls, but the slick features (and, now iWatch integration) never existed. In 2015 the LiNX 9^2 (Squared) came out and we are promised all new slick integration - but, first put another $8,100.00 in ReSound’s Dealer’s hands. $16,000.00 in 18 months? Where the first set are not much more than good hearing aids? Not a chance. Wait for the competition to sort this out. I’ve spoken with GN ReSound and they are unwavering. You want cutting edge tech: plan on bleeding cash.

Needs Force Touch menu

I would give 5 stars if Force Touch were implemented to bring up the Favorites menu! Edit: I dropped this to 1 star! Out of nowhere this app lost ALL OF MY favorites! What up with that?

Still Wont Pair with iPhone 6

I think its inexcusable to pay this much for a supposedly high-tech hearing aid only to have it not pair with an iPhone 6S.

Has worked great for me!

I was replacing my old Oticon hearing aids and after reading all the bad reviews here, I was worried about trying Resound Lynx. Since there was a 45 day return period, I decided to give it a go. The hearing aids have been much better than my old ones and the app works great! I have experienced no real problems with the app, including after downloading the latest IOS update. The ability to Bluetooth my phone calls (without wearing another device) and the ability to stream music from my phone directly into my ears is wonderful! If Im in the car and get a call, the cars Bluetooth fights with the app for control, but you can use the audio selection button on the phone to choose. I do wish there was an audio selection button for music. If Im in the car and steam Apple Music from my phone, my hearing aids take over, and no one else in the car can hear the music unless I shut my Bluetooth off. Not a big deal. The separate demo app that Resound has to allow you to hear what to expect when you select different hearing modes overstates the improvement. There are improvements from changing modes (restaurant, auto, etc). Just not as great as demod and still much better than my other aids. As you can tell, Im very happy with the app and the hearing aids. I think it helps if the doc you use also understands the iPhone so he or she can show you all the features and make practical suggestions on using the app.

Useful app - needs refinement

Never had an issue connecting via Bluetooth with my iPhone 6. Straightforward and uncomplicated. Of all the various features available in the app, there really are only three which one uses on a regular basis: volume, program selection, and sound enhancer for noise and wind reduction. Rather than spreading these three features across multiple different pages of the app, it would be a significant improvement if they were all available on one page. The four program buttons could be on the top, the volume control in the middle, and a button to access the sound enhancer somewhere conveniently accessible on that page. As it is now, one must change the volume on one page, swipe across to another page to change the program selection, and then hit the “… [more]” button at the top of that page just to access the sound enhancer button among a list of rarely used features like favorites and treble/bass. The information in the app for my particular hearing aid model incorrectly lists a 13 battery as the appropriate one rather than a 312 and the battery life indicator is essentially useless as I’ve never seen it showing anything other than full battery until after I’ve already heard the low battery chime in the aids. It should gradually show less available power like a gas indicator in one’s car.

App works good with iPhone 6plus

Worked with my Linx2 {7} right out of the box. Paired and have only had one occurance of bad connection. Reset the hearing aids and worked again. I would have given this a 5 star if it could give me a little more control of my hearing aids 4 main programs, but I guess that would take business away from my hearing Dr. I save a lot of settings to favorites- Would be great if I could tweak the setting in favorites. Can only view settings. So I need to tweak, save a new favorite and then delete the old favorite. I also purchase the TV Streamer. Works well with my hearing aids and Smart app. Looking into getting an Apple Watch for the convienence of not getting my iPhone out to select programs and tweaks.

Favorites needs easy access

The app has great functionality but there are too many steps required to access FAVORITES. Favorites should be accessible from the main screen. Other than this, a great app to accompany wonderful sounding devices.
